have you tried to organise late check outs for sunday?, we done that at nundle last year and it made the sunday ride so much easier cause we could leave early and get back at 1sh and then pack up, not having to be out by 10.00.

TB, a 908rr is over rated & over priced, you can buy 3 606’s & have change
The 908 over rated over priced doesnt matter like I said no 17’s
. $160 for a desert is good buying, will chase the 17’s up.Cheers

Quote:A few guys at work are going to Cape York & are looking for a suitable tyre, I’ve read a bit & it seems for the lower price of the T63 you don’t get the longevity of the Desert. For a similar price the 606’s last longerMy 2c
I have a 606 on the back of the Tenere now, it was days old when I purchased the bike. Its bald as a babys bum now and is around 2400kms old
When the bike gets home soon I will take photos of it. I have bought two 63’s so I will have to get about putting some miles on one of them and see what they will do
. I looked at the Dunlop 908RR but they dont do a 17
The Pirelli scorpion rally looks good as well but again no 17
I will put some miles on some different ones and work something out for the ride and after the ride.TB

Its an old page but I did find this. Click on sizes

TB have they stopped making them in a 17 or they just aren’t available at the moment?
I know a couple of years back I looked at them for my transalp and they were a 140/80 17.(Michelin size of course)
Mate I am sure they only ever made them in 18’s (but I have been wrong many a time before  )
I havent been able to find a listing worldwide for a 17  I have run them on the XR and I love them
Not great grip just real consistent and wear great good strong side wall puncture resistanthere is a link to the listings http://motorcycle.michelin.com.au/twproduct/findProduct/moreProduct/26 click the size tab

Quote:We ran ED78’s on the WR’s at Finke, we pre ran approx 150k’s, Down & back 450k’s then badbowie did Hattah on the same rear another 200k’s & they’ve hardly wornThey only come in one size 120/100-18 & they are a big heavy tyre.
Got a couple of new ED78’s left over if any one wants one at a good price.
Was also reading on ADV there are no Deserts available at the moment
I heard the same about deserts but I was at Sutto’s today when Mal rang Michelin (Gardners) about the T63’s and they still have deserts in stock
The only reason I am not running a desert is they dont come in 17’sThe ED78 I ran on the Old Bulls biggest weekend did 1500kms on the XR before I took it off its pretty rooted now. But its so different around here to the corner ride, still have it and yes they are a heavy tyre but it would do the whole ride. Good strong side wall for protection as well SB
