Good report, and yes I had boiling rear brakes from chasing the group and passing you (which was easy) when Bollocks bike stopped and I didnt want to get wrapped in the Lantana you did minutes later thus clearing it for me

I will second that Admin, thanks AB good work
This was my 2nd Mick’s birthday bash as such one of the bigger ride weekends here at OBT and one I always look forward to. Rider X lays on the best ride days they is second to none and this for me always makes the weekend. Cheers X it would be criminal not to mention you gay shoes what’s doing here?

Getting packed and away from home on Thursday arvo was a nightmare because of the domestic blitz thing happening next door but the crew made room and we got away when Mal and Crash turned up. We towed Ghostriders BIG bogie in closed trailer which was a pleasure to have for the weekend cheers Wal
A quick stop over at the bottle shop, then Sutto’s for Mal 5.1 to make his weekly donation, some more gear for the up and coming A4DE. Lunch was at the twin Caltex’s at Wyong and all good I thought

Whilst sitting on a comfortable cruising speed on the F3 up near the Newcastle end I realised in all the excitement at home I had left my bag on non bike riding clothes at home. Mild panic set in but I remembered that Boulder was working in Bowral and would be going sort of past my place (not really that close, he is a dead set legend) While I tried getting Boulder on the blower Mick set about tracking down Holeshot who lives a couple of suburbs from me to see if he had left, this involved the white pages and a heap of phone calls. Boulder rang back and good has gold it was under control, thanks so much mate.
We continued on, I drove and the boys got into a few bundies and we arrived at Mick’s. Into the shed, some work on the bikes we had purchased some Al Baker XR only billet case savers for the BRP’s so I fitted Crashes and mine correctly unlike Micks he had installed incorrectly previously and couldn’t be arsed fixing
There was a fair amount of pre hydration going on Mal and I cooled of with a swim as the humidity at 9.30 at night in the shed was ridiculous. :woohoo:
We awoke in the morning Mick made some coffees and we suited up with Crash making mention that maybe Mal snored
After some bacon and egg rolls, passing a school bus and a regroup at Moose’s we got under way. Quickly I discovered I was enjoying a golden day on the back wheel and was getting the odd decent wheelie.
Once into the bush we got into some ripper trails but it was very slippery in spots, very slippery is actually an understatement. The trails are supreme up here as with most all of the Wauchope area. I was really enjoying running in the middle of the pack wired to Crash and then Mal and seeing first hand all that goes down in the pack. While running through a over grown twin trail I caught out of the corner of my eye a white WR pointing back where we had just come from, we pulled up and checked to find Bullock’s had stopped for some fancy aerobatic dirt nap but was ready to go. During the weekend I came to admire how tough our Tamworth resident stock agent is, you da man Bollocks.
We waited for Ollie to tape up his boots

Through to Kempsey, enjoying riding in the pack and being part of it a few wheelies and so much fun although cleaning goggles at every corner stop was a new it was so much fun. By this stage Bollock’s, Kram, Crash, Mick and myself has started filling one another in at any which was a lot of fun and kept you on your toes. Mal 5.1 informed me many a time that at corners I sit in the wrong place which either makes it hard for others or gets me filled in
Crash and Mick had connected Bluetooth’s but Crash must of became bored because he decided to start ripping trees out even if he had to crash to do it

We called in at a mates, who it turns out knows Ollie and fuelled in town. Of we went on Ollie’s mystery tour which had some of the best tracks I have had the pleasure of riding in some time, around and around and around we went at times a few of us reckon Ollie was lets say geographically challenged as he seemed to be talking with Kram a lot and he was shaking his head. But around we went on great tracks and riding, cheers Ollie for taking us through. Being mid pack I witnessed Mick eat s*#t big time

This being the mayor on his birthday

We as a group over rode Ollie and demanded we head to Crescent Head tavern for lunch as it was 1.00pm and bistro shuts at 2.00 and I still don’t think they knew exactly where we were, it didn’t matter because the riding was so good. But away we went, Kram took the lead and Ollie gave the on you go wave and then cut me 20 yards later that had us laughing later. In here Boulder had a huge of along a fence line, he smashed one of his brand new Astrisk knee brace braces and I received a text this arvo saying he has ligament damage and a fractured bone in his shin. He is one tough man as he continued the rest of the day without so much of a word about it. Once on the road we cruised into Crescent with a couple of little wheelies and one for the kids at school
Lunch at Crescent Head Tavern is always good and didn’t disappoint again.

From there we fuelled and rode out to Kram’s back yard, except for some smelly black bog holes that Crash got in and helped most people the ride through here shouldn’t be missed if you get the chance up there, railing sand corners was great.
Ollie took a low shot on the birthday boy in the black smelly poo which had him spewing revenge
Out to Big Hill point for a photo shoot and of down Plommer Road, this was the only time all day that a few of us had a go, I had a cracker run with Kram on the rape a renta bike that had us breathless and laughing. Of to the ferry, turning kill switches of, maybe a wheelie and laughing at Ollie’s skinny seat and somewhat wider arse.
Before Wauchope we had a stoner on the side of the road cheering after we went past that cracked Mick up
Some of us washed the bikes at the car wash, STM fronted and we got stuck I into tyre changes, gearing changes etc etc with a mixture of shed banter and drinks
Dinner at the RSL and a cake from Bollock’s again mate you da man.
Saturday to come, thanks for reading
:ohmy:Yeah massive, we drove home all last night got home at 11.30 after leaving Wauchope at 6.40.

Quote:I mention in my last post that I could hear a strange noise after doing the clutch work on my XR, well I have narrowed it down. I can only hear the howeling noise, kinda like a truck in the distance dropping in revs but a little more howely, when slowing down in 3rd gear when the revs drop. I have read alot on the net about the 3rd gear issues the XR’s have but from what I’m aware the bike was rebuilt only a few thousand kms ago and I only hear it when slowing down. Could this be a result of too thick an oil in her, used 25w-50, or is it the first signs of the dreaded weak 3rd gear?It wont be because of the oil
I would run it for around 500kms and drain the oil remove the oil filter and pull the filter about looking for metal.
If theres no metal thats a start, if there is chances are its the hard facing from 3rd gear and its breaking up fast. I could be wrong but I always thought the problem with 3rd gear was the dog?It depends on how bad the noise is to how fast I did something about it. Some noise no metal and not jumping out of gear no rush

Metal noise gets worse jumps out of gear do it straight away

The robber immediately shoots him in the head and shouts ‘did anyone else see my face?’ He spots a man peering from behind the counter so shoots him too. ‘Did anybody else see my face?’ he shouts, waving his gun about. After a short silence a voice is heard from a far corner. . . ‘I think my missus got a glimpse…’ollie

You are the Jokes King I think Ollie and this one cracked me up
