Nice ride reports and videos Kylie and Dan, I love that both of you ride a long report that leaves me feeling as though as I was there on the ride.

I am waiting for Chris’s helmet cam footage as well, he also has some from the Caves that he should post there for those that dont get a DVD, I spent a couple of hrs on sunday getting the last of photos together so it can happen

To answer your question Chris, no, why, it would only have EFI which would be good but the carby is going fine and it would have USD forks but that I am not convinced is the answer to everything with an aluminum frame, nah it would have to be something special mate to think about a change, when you happy your happy

    Honda and Happy

Well TB you must have Red blood for the rest of your life here on the Dirt!
Sounds like you will not change at all in your life to new dirt bike Techinologly! hahahahahaha
All the talk of Big Bore 2 smokers are on the come back as well maybe one day we can get you to come back to the where the Dirt bike world started from.

    Cheers
    DR D

DR D Chris’s question was if Honda bought out another 650 would I buy it, that quote is the answer to a new Honda 650 mate the only two changes off the top of my head would be USD and EFI, but I said if it was special well you can read it again and maybe understand better this time

have you picked her up yet??

how many times have you polished it mate, while looking at the bike:laugh:

I pick it up on saturday morning,i am going to have a few rides before i do the suspension.I would like to get it done before the snow ride tho.

My brother in-law had a WR 250 and it was phat straight out of the box, the WR450 he bought after it was the most disappointing new bike I have ever ridden and on advice from a 450 owner he had the forks done and it made it such a different bike, so much better ;)

What aftermarket stuff do you need?

I don’t think there will be any harder parts to get than KTM are now. My fuel tank did take 3 weeks to be delivered from Austria but it’s not often you break a fuel tank!

You don’t need jet’s or any kind of stuff like that, just a lappy and the software to modify performance. They have an exhaust available if you really need one :)

I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just saying you’re not right

Yeah your right Moto, jets are all a Motobike uses, cause they wear our jets and you have to service the jets and when you crash the jest get smashed   (maybe jets not the best example buddy)

I am not saying Chris is right but any sort of spares could be required, a spring on the exhaust to a radiator bracket snapped in fall, but having said that and had a look at Sutto’s stock as a berg dealer spares wont be an issue, you will always on any brand get the odd part that isnt in stock. I would have thought that a fuel tank would be in Australia when you needed it Moto but they may only keep two in stock in KTM headquaters and those two for whatever fluky reason been used before a stock order is replenished (happens at our work all the time :( )

    Buy away I say

Since I known TB the talk of getting a new bike has gone from a stern obsession to keep the fiddy as it’s the best bike in the world to talking baout the possibilities of the bike he would buy next.

I wonder how long it will be until the inevitable happens? ;)

    PS – There’s a CR500E on eBay at the minute :P

    PPS – Crash – You’re a unit!!

OK again for the dummies!

I dont want another bike I would hate to buy another bike but if I had to buy another bike, like if my was stolen or the likes I would more than likely buy a 300 or large size smoker main reason cheap running costs like my XR

I love my bike and am happy how it does everything, no matter where I ride it, it does everything I want, it holds its own with everyone in the trees at Orange, it does every style of riding be it single line in the pines or 160kph in the paddocks of the Condo 750 and I dont seem to be holding many people up and it gets me past Ollie everytime I have come up behind him :P nah seriuosly its everything I want ;) I have different tanks, spare wheels etc etc etc Yeah would hate to buy another bike

Am I missing something here or were these guys all on the same ride?

To ride ahead, pull a U turn and then rocket back at your mates is insane. If this is the case it is not bad luck it is sheer stupidity.

In fairness we dont know what happen why he turned around and why he was in a hurry if he was, could be a reason that we will never know STM and could have been very important. Here is another thought, having lead the odd ride sometimes there is a hold up and you are forced to go back and find whats going on. The danger is not you so much going back but the others catching up? Maybe the guy going back was doing 20kph, the guy catching was doing 110kph, thats a 130kph impact

Its bad news all round thats the point not who is the blame

Unfortunately I believe none of the “exotic” large bore smokers have been ADR’ed as of yet, the AF500 Honda or Kawasaki, none of the Maico’s or the Can Ams’ or those british one either.

A 300 smoker is probably the most competent allrounder out there $$$ for $$$ wise, it does nothing badly, and somethings brilliantly, just watch Erzberg or Enduro-cross footage to confirm.
One day TB you will welcomed back into the church of the faithful, and you shall be anionted (don’t get too excited Boony & Menace) on the forehead with the most sacred of oils R30.
