Bugger livin in the middle of nowhere ! and having to w…..a….i….t for parts to turn up. And being so far away from all the action:(
A Kiwi walks into the local unemployment office, marches straight up to the counter and says, “Hi! I hate being on welfare, I’d really rather have a job.”
The clerk behind the Centrelink desk says, “Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur/bodyguard for his nymphomaniac daughter. You’ll have to drive around in his Mercedes, but he’ll supply all of your clothes.
Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You’ll be expected to escort her on her overseas holiday trips. You’ll have a two-bedroom apartment above the garage.
The starting salary is $200,000 a year”.
The Kiwi says, “You’re bull****ting me!”
The Centrelink officer says, “Yeah, well, you started it”.
ya can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
but you gave it a pretty good go by the looks of it Ollie.
a long shot, try A R Maxwell (03) 5883 1315
http://www.maxwellmotorcycles.com.au/
i was a little surprised the guys at Teknik know him, being almost at opposite ends of the state.
anyway he has 1/2 an acre of bikes or more. and being a rural area he has bikes of all kinds and shapes and sizes.
my old man used to tell us about the TC 120 Wildcat he bought brand spankin in 72.
there was an option of 90 or 120cc, so he went the big bore 😆 😆 😆
maybe also try Rochester Motor Cycle Centre (03) 5484 2166
they used to wreck a few bike years ago. but i don’t know to what extent since the sons have taken over.
and i tried to find a listing for Mr Motorcross, used to be in Melb. area. there was a period of time he was in Bendigo, but can’t find any current info for him/them.
i love to be there, especially with my new tuned suspension and all :woohoo:… but my car is off the road at the moment….. ):
if, and a bigish if i can get transport, i’d be interested in a Monday ride??
as i’d come down Sunday arvo, camp, ride Monday, camp then come home Tuesday.
is there much talk about the 510’s on the like of Thumper Talk??
the clutch cable whanny could have been pinched under the tank??
my 640 was in for the 1000km service. i got 1/2 way home and broke the cable, it’d been pinched under the tank.
i didn’t pick it was a little tighter to pull until the shop said it could have been pinched when the tank was put back on.
then it dawned on me it was harder to pull:blush:
with the flat battery, did you try push starting it?
i read you store your washed out empty camel back bladder in the freezer it stops ecoli from breeding/ growing.
and the odd glass of water ever so often between beverages at the circle of knowledge/ bench racing lessens the throbbing the next day:whistle:

I think, no hang on,,, I KNOW you will be severely dissapointed mate
After the ltiile ride this arvo, I am keen as to have a little dirt squirt saturday, but will be taking it on the cautios side for a bit :whistle:I had the map select on “1” which is supposedly a bit more like a DRZ400, will give it a whirl on the other two setings after an hour or so down there 👿
 who told you that?? a Suzuki dealer?? 😆 😆 for a 690 to be like a DRZ400 it must drop half a rag in the air box or something… :pinch:
or did they mean a DR650??… that’s prob. what they meant….
640’s all come with button and left kicker.
except maybe the Duke, was button only from memory.
this wasn’t the bike in the Nos energy drink in the fuel tank thread was it?? :pinch: :S
as re: the sprocket conversion, could it have been done to change the gearing? but i would have thought the belt set up would have been optionable in sizes to change gearing.
hi rocket, they are usually set up for 80kg riders, so if you put in 80kg on the teknik site it should give you an idea on spring rate.
but Nik or one of the guys should set us straight though..
hmmm would a post on 03 Aug 2010 06:19 be classed as short term??
i remember reading something about a similar set up being ridden across oz as a trial/ prove it can be done sort of thing. but cannot remember how long ago, or where it was now
or what the base bike was before they modified it, or what engine they used
hmmm any more info other than the pics you have?
engine specs etc.
looks like a bit of cruisey, wind in ya hair on a sunny afternoon.
look out TB will be wanting to fit an adventuring side car :silly: :pinch:
